What is Arthritis?

Arthritis is a chronic medical condition that is characterized by pain, stiffness and swelling in or around joints and connective tissues. There are more than 100 types of arthritis, which can affect other parts of the body, including muscles, bones and internal organs. The most common types of arthritis are osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Although there is no cure for arthritis, early diagnosis and arthritis self-management can help reduce the symptoms of this disease.
